Simple spicy potato fry - How to make potato fry in South Style - Potato fry recipe

Potato fry recipe with step by step photos and video – simple, easy and tasty recipe of potato fry. A no onion, no garlic, no Tomato and no vegan recipe. Potato fry is one of those dishes that you can easily prepare for a quick lunch or dinner option. You can have it with chapatis or even serve as a side dish with Dal-rice or even Khichdi recipe, Serve hot with rice and curd perfect combo and hot steamed rice or Rasam.

Potato fry  ingredients:-

1. Potato                                   
2. Reuired Quantity of Oil
3. Mustard and Jeera
4. 1/4 Spoon Turmeric
5. 1/2 Spoon Kashmiri Red Chili Powder
6. 1/2 Spoon Red Chili Powder
7. Salt as per taste

Setp 1 :
The potatoes cut into small bite sized, Rinse well, drain water and set aside.

Setp 2 :
Heat oil in a kadai - add mustard seeds let it splutter then add Jeera.


Setp 3 :
Add potato and saute for 3 mins.

Step 4:
If the potatoes are half fried then add ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder, ½ teaspoon Kashmiri red chili powder, ½ teaspoon red chili powder, a pinch of Hing Powder (asafoetida optional) and salt as per taste. Mix the spice powders very well with the potatoes. Spread them evenly in the pan.

Setp 5:
Continue to stir often and cook till the potatoes are done. At each stir, change the position of potatoes so that they get crisp evenly from all sides.Check if its cooked, turns soft then its perfectly cooked and Keep stirring in low medium flame.Saute for few more minutes till it has crispy edges. 


You can have it with chapatis or even serve as a side dish with Dal-rice or even Khichdi recipe, Serve hot with rice and curd perfect combo and hot steamed rice and Rasam or even serve as Sambhar Rice
